My Steam Account

Hello everyone, this is CEO100able blogging again. This place hasn't been updated in over a year, so I am writing about something completely different. It's about my Steam account. I registered for one today because the PC games "Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and "The Lego Movie Video Game" required a Steam account to play them, even though they're physical copies. I installed them and added the same games to my collection.

For those who don't know, Steam is basically a website that provides video games as digital downloads. It started years ago, but I haven't thought about starting a Steam account until now as the two particular games mentioned above prompted me to do so. Here's a link to it:

My Thoughts on Grunko Films

Hello everyone. I am starting to make blog posts about my thoughts on things, which basically describe my opinions on things I care about. Here, I am starting off with a company called Grunko Films. For those who don't know what this company is about, it's a company that produced home videos about wildlife, fishing and hunting. Not only that, but they produced two TV shows, "Experience the Wild" and "The Wild Gourmet." (Experience the Wild had a home video series of its own as well.) Bill Grunkemeyer, the owner, started the company in 1982, ran it for a couple of decades and died in June 2003 at the home of Lou Gehrig's disease, so his company became defunct. Let's get on with my opinions...

First of all, I was really interested in children's home videos about animals (e.g. Baby Animals at Uncle Larry's Farm) when I was little, so my parents bought them, including two different home videos made by this particular company: "Baby Animal Fun" and "Wild Animals at Play." They are actually the 1999 re-released distributed by a Canadian company called Madacy Entertainment Group. The two home videos were first released in 1988. The VHS tape I loved the best was "Baby Animal Fun." Why you may ask? Because it features a little girl named Ashley Tyler and her dad Lyle Tyler (referred to as "Burr"). They go out on animal adventures. The episodes have amazing music. I was really obsessed with that home video, from 2002 to 2005. The second VHS tape, "Wild Animals at Play," was also great. The footage was nice and so was the music. Later on in 2014, I decided to start collecting more home videos.

What I like about this company is that their home videos have great music choices (some of the music tracks can be found on some stock music libraries, such as the ones made by FirstCom Music) and the narration, from Fred Arthur's efforts to Bill Grunkemeyer's talents, was really informative. It provided true information about how wildlife and nature work, facts about animals, etc. They're both entertaining and educational (great educational value of course), so think of them as "documentaries." I like the fact that they take place in Wyoming and a few other regions because the scenes look beautiful. Above all, those home videos are really great.

The bad? Well, they NEVER released their home videos on DVD, so all of them are exclusive to VHS, which really stinks. You'd think they would release their great shows on up-to-date technology because DVDs and Blu-rays took over VHS tapes. If they did so, I would buy all of them in a heartbeat! Also, they never released all of the Experience the Wild episodes from the TV series, nor the other TV show, "The Wild Gourmet." Thus the fact that it was only aired in Canada as far as I know, and Experience the Wild only aired in the state of Wyoming, which is weird. I think the productions really deserved to be released on modern technology products for future generations of wildlife fans.

Well, that's all I have to say about this company. I have some home videos made by Grunko Films, but I only have a few on Dailymotion at this moment because once in late 2012, I uploaded a couple productions made by this company. Nearly a year later, I was a little bit paranoid about copyright issues, so I moved them to my Dailymotion account (it's called ChristianGuy1). I almost forgot that I have a wiki on Wikia based on this company. Check it out here:

News About My PlayStation 2

Hello everyone. I have some bad news about my PlayStation 2. After a year of playing games on it, it stopped reading CD-ROM based games (PlayStation 1 games and PS2 games that are CD-ROM based). I believe the lens is starting to wear out. I still have the original SCPH-30001 model. I'm planning on taking it to my local retro video game store since they repair video game consoles very well. In the meantime, I will not upload anymore let's plays and walkthroughs of PS1 and PS2 games that are CD-ROM based, until I can have it repaired. Fortunately, I can still play PS2 games that are DVD-ROM based since it still reads them.

Now, for those of you who have the newer PS2 models, you may be wondering, "Why aren't you upgrading to the slim model?" Well, first of all, it's because the original model has the ability to read games, including 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue and ATV Offroad Fury 3. Second, and finally, I like how the original model operates. Not to mention, it's a good thing my other consoles (my Nintendo Wii, my Nintendo GameCube and my original Xbox) still work. Even though Sony no longer supports the PlayStation 2, I can still have fun with PS1 and PS2 games.

So, that's all I have to say in case you're wondering what's going on with my video game consoles. See you next time, and have a Happy New Year!

Update (09/04/2015): I know I'm really late to say this, but in January of this year, it has been fixed. Now I can still play CD-ROM based games.

An Update About My Windows 7 PC

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I posted anything on this blog. Something recently happened with my Windows 7 PC. That's right, after four and a half years of its usage, the HP Pavilion p6230f stopped working. Why? Because the boot-up process has a glitch where after the boot screen goes off, it chooses to restart the boot-up process and lead to the screen with a blinking dash on the top-left corner whenever I have my backup drives connected to the front of the PC. Whenever I disconnect the backup drives, I get a different screen saying "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key."

It all started a couple of nights ago when after I started to continue using the PC again after a time period of having it standing by (since I was doing something else), the taskbar looked like it was frozen, so I tried restarting it by pressing the on/off button on top of it and turning it on again, but all of a sudden, the PC started having weird issues. I tried the startup repair software, but it gave me an error message saying "The installed program cannot start. Click OK to turn off the computer." I also went through the diagnosis process, but it failed to test the hard drive as it failed to communicate with it, along with the default boot device. At least the tests for the memory chips and the processor were able to pass.

It turns out that the hard drive recently stopped working. So yesterday, I decided to take it to my local computer repair store, so I will not upload any more let's plays, walkthroughs, etc. until it's repaired. In that case, this will leave me "Windows 7-less." Well, I'm not really "Windows 7-less" because I still have my Fujitsu Lifebook LH531, which has Windows 7 on it. I am actually posting this blog post via my Dell Optiplex GX260, which has Windows XP on it. It's not really my main computer, but in the meantime, I can still use it. Speaking of Windows XP, I just realized yesterday was the end of support for Windows XP, along with Office 2003. I'm very sad that it had to come to an end, though I have a lot of fond memories of that awesome OS. I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and apologize for any inconvenience. With that said, see you soon!

Edit (4/20/2014): I have some excellent news! My HP Pavilion p6230f PC has finished being repaired, so last night, I was able to bring it back into my household. The original hard drive was replaced with a new one, and it still has Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. Some of my data survived, but not all of it, so I'll have to live with it. This means I have to reinstall some programs I need, plus I don't have to worry about not being able to continue making let's plays, walkthroughs, etc. anymore.

  • The Polar Express
  • Ford Racing: Off-Road (This was the first Wii title I ever played! I actually played it at a friend's house back in 2011, but I didn't have a Nintendo Wii until over a year-and-ahalf later, plus I purchased this game at a local GameStop store a few months after purchasing a Nintendo Wii.)

I only use this product for playing ScummVM games, like Putt-Putt Joins the Parade, Putt-Putt and Fatty Bear's Activity Pack, Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo, Freddi Fish 1, and more.)
PC Titles I used to have:
  • Test Drive Off-Road 2 (individual release)
  • Tonka Construction (Encore's "Games Just for Boys" release) (I still have the original version of this game.)
  • Tonka Dig 'n Rigs (I received this PC game with its playset for Christmas back in 2004. Sadly, the playset somehow got lost several years later, and on top of that, I accidentally cracked the disc for the game, so I will have to purchase another copy of this product for myself one day.)
  • Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 (RCT2: Triple Thrill Pack copy) (I still have my first copy of this game.)
  • Clifford's Thinking Adventures
  • Globetrotter 2: 'Round the World Challenge

  • NASCAR Road Racing
  • Stuart Little: Big City Adventures (I used to have this PC game way back in 2000, but then it somehow ended up being lost.)

I got rid of it by selling it on eBay in late 2017 because I didn't care much for Dragon Spirit, Bosconian, Rolling Thunder, and Mappy.)
Wow, this is a great collection! Anyway, that will be it for this blog post. See you next time!

My Collection of Computers and Virtual PC Operating Systems

Well, since I started this blog two days ago, it's about time that I make my first collection list. This time it will be about my computers and operating systems which I have in Microsoft Virtual PC 2007. Since 1999, I started growing up with computers and they were the biggest parts of my childhood. Also, starting in 2010, I was watching Virtual PC videos on YouTube made by stevethemeave45, FreightExpress1993, Gabriel37451, etc. and started to use operating systems in that virtual program. Without further ado, let's get started.

Computers I currently have:
  • A Custom-Built Thermaltake PC with Windows 10 Home (This is officially my main computer and it's great.)
  • HP Pavilion p6230f with Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (I got this PC for Christmas in 2009, and I still use it today.)
  • Dell Optiplex GX260 with Windows XP Professional SP2 (This is my first Windows XP Professional PC.)
  • HP Pavilion a618x with Windows XP Home Edition (This PC sometimes freezes up after at least 20 minutes unless the mouse is active.)
  • HP Vectra VL 6/350 Series 8 DT with Windows 98 (I don't know why this PC is now rare, but it's a good thing I have it.)
  • HP Vectra VL 6/400 Series 8 DT with Windows 98 SE
  • Fujitsu Lifebook LH531 with Windows 7 (This laptop runs faster than my Windows XP one.)
  • TOSHIBA NB205 with Windows XP Home Edition SP3 (This is my first laptop.)
  • Microsoft Surface PC/Tablet with Windows 8.1 Pro (Silver Unit and Black Keyboard Attachment) (This is my first Surface product as well as my first actual Windows 8.1 machine.)
Computers I used to have:
  • A Custom-Built PC with Windows 95 (I cannot remember which brand this PC is, but it was my first computer. Too bad I don't have it anymore.)
  • HP Pavilion 700 Series PC with Windows XP Home Edition (This was my first HP PC, especially with the amazing HP Tour Guide program. I don't know what happened to it since the last time I used it in 2004.)
  • HP Pavilion a700n with Windows XP Home Edition SP2 (This was my second HP PC, but the computer's SATA controller fried after seven years of using it. Sadly, I gave up on repairing it entirely since it became clear that it was too hard to fix, even for nostalgia.)
  • HP Pavilion 13.3" Screen Laptop with Windows 10 Home (Back in 2022, I thought this would be my main laptop, but as of May 2024, I no longer have it due to technical problems with its Internet connection capabilities.)
Operating Systems I have in Microsoft Virtual PC 2007:
  • Windows 1.0
  • Windows 2.0
  • Windows 3.0 (This OS doesn't seem to work very well.)
  • Windows 3.1
  • Windows 3.11 for Workgroups (I haven't used this OS in a long time!)
  • Windows NT 3.51 (This OS doesn't work for now.)
  • Microsoft Windows Chicago 4.00.122
  • Windows 95 May Test Release (This version of this OS has some junk on the desktop.)
  • Windows 95 (I'm glad I still use this OS in Virtual PC since my first computer had it.)
  • Windows 95 Plus!
  • Windows 95 with Microsoft Plus! For Kids (I really think the themes and programs are interesting, plus I believe the theme's sounds are also heard in Humongous Entertainment games.)
  • Windows Nashville Beta 1 Build 999 (This is a beta of Windows 96.)
  • Windows NT 4.0 (The graphics of the images always mess up on this OS, and I cannot get the sound to work.)
  • Windows NT 5.0 (Just like stevethemeave45 tried (according to one of his YouTube videos), I had some issues with the installation of this OS once. Shouldn't I find a way to fix the problem by any chance?)
  • Windows 98 (The VHD of this OS has 15.9 GB.)
  • Windows 98 SE (I can't get this version of the OS to work anymore because a couple of needed files were automatically deleted for no reason.)
  • Windows 98 Plus! (The Plus! 98 pack has some awesome themes.)
  • Windows 99 (Is this a beta OS? Or is it fake?)
  • Windows 2000 Beta 3 Build 1946
  • Windows 2000 Professional SP4
  • Microsoft Georgia Beta 1 Build 2380
  • Windows ME
  • Windows Neptune Build 5111 (I tried installing this OS, but the virtual machine won't understand the ISO. I will have to do it in VirtualBox instead.)
  • Windows Whistler Build 2296 Professional
  • Windows Whistler Build 2410 Professional
  • Windows Whistler Build 2446 Professional
  • Windows Whistler Build 2475 Professional (My all-time favorite version of Windows Whistler!)
  • Windows Whistler Build 2481 Professional
  • Windows Whistler Build 2486 Professional
  • Windows XP Home Edition (It turns out that the VHD has an issue with the SYSTEM folder.)
  • Windows XP Professional (This OS has Microsoft Plus! manually installed on it. I really like this OS a lot.)
  • Windows XP Professional Media Center Edition 2005 SP3 (I felt like using this OS in Virtual PC 2007 because, while browsing on YouTube, I saw that legoking831 had this OS on his HP desktop computer. I don't have this OS installed on the virtual machine's VHD file yet, but I will try to find a safe copy of an ISO someday.)
  • Windows XP Professional Performance Edition SP3 (This OS uses the same startup and shutdown sequences as Windows 2000.)
  • Windows Server 2003 (I finally have this OS running!)
  • Windows CE 5.0 (This mobile OS is cool. Too bad you can't find a way to shut it down.)
  • Windows Longhorn Build 3706 (Just like what I was doing with Windows NT 4.0, I could not get the sound to work. This beta OS runs really slow because things have been making it mess up left and right on it.)
  • Windows Longhorn Build 4008
  • Windows Longhorn Build 4015
  • Windows Vista Home Premium (This is an awesome OS.)
  • Windows 8 Consumer Preview
Operating Systems I have in VirtualBox:
  • Windows 98
  • Windows ME
  • Windows XP Professional
  • Windows Vista SP2
  • Windows 7 Enterprise
  • Windows 8.1

Whoa, it took me like an hour for me to list this stuff initially. That's all the computers and Virtual PC operating systems I have for now, just to let you know. I wish I still had my first HP Pavilion PC. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading this list. See you later!
